About the event

We would like to draw your attention to the 2025 annual lecture of the University Research Priority Program "Human Reproduction Reloaded", which will take place on Wednesday, 12 November 2025, 6:15 pm (RAA-G-01), followed by an apéro. We kindly ask you to register here.


We are honoured to be joined by Prof. Alfonso Martinez Arias (Universidad Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona), a world leading figure in the field of developmental biology and stem cell research, including human embryonic development.


His talk "The human embryo and its models: hope, hype and regulation" will be about recent stem cell multicellular models, created in the laboratory, that track, and often mimic, the early stages of human development. These models, called “Stem Cell based Embryo Models”, have generated high expectations about their possibilities to act as a source of organs and tissues for repair.
